Labour Minister Vivek launches new short-term courses at Mallepally ITI

As part of the Telangana government’s 99-Day Praja Palana – Pragati Action Plan, Minister for Labour G. Vivek Venkatswamy launched new short-term courses at the Advanced Technology Center (ATC) in the Government ITI at Mallepally on Monday.

The Minister announced the introduction of modern courses such as CNC Machine Operation, Robotics, EV Technology and 2D & 3D Product Designing. He stated that the government’s objective is to enhance modern skills among youth and create better employment opportunities for them, a statement said.

Special Chief Secretary of the Labour department Dana Kishore, Director of Employment and Training Kanthi Wesley, along with officials and trainers participated in the programme.

The Minister said that many industries have been expressing concern over the shortage of skilled manpower. Therefore, the government has decided to train students according to the skill sets required by industries. ATCs and ITIs are playing a key role in preparing trained professionals with skills needed for future industries, he added.

The Minister reminded that a single skill is not sufficient and opportunities increase significantly when youth become multi-skilled. Courses related to agriculture and allied sectors will soon be introduced in rural areas in partnership with Tata Technologies. Compared to global standards, productivity in the agricultural sector in India remains low, and steps will be taken to enhance skills in the agri-allied sector, he said.

Similarly, discussions were held with industries in the Genome Valley region and courses required by those industries will also be introduced soon.
