The second-phase adalat to directly hear beneficiaries regarding the write-off of bank loans of victims of the Mundakkai–Chooralmala landslide disaster will be held at the Wayanad district collectorate from June 22 to June 24.
Officials said the adalat was being organised to hear beneficiaries included in the rehabilitation appeal list published by the government after being recognised as landslide victims, as part of the process of writing off their loans. The adalat will cover beneficiaries from Wards 10, 11, and 12 of Meppadi grama panchayat, as well as those included in the list related to commercial establishments.
In cases where beneficiaries are unable to attend in person, other family members attending the adalat should bring their details. Disaster victims have been urged to bring all available documents related to bank loans outstanding as of July 30, 2024, including loan statements and passbooks. In the case of deceased persons, details of their loans should be provided by surviving close relatives.
Those attending the adalat should bring copies of their Aadhaar card or other identity proof, ration card, loan account passbook, and loan statements showing the outstanding loan amount.
