LG launches Essential Series ACs with 'VIRAAT mode' in India

LG India has launched its new Essential Series air conditioner, designed for India's challenging summer conditions. Featuring a Smart Inverter Compressor and Variable Tonnage Technology, it offers rapid cooling and energy efficiency. Key benefits include stabilizer-free operation, enhanced durability with Gold Fin+ and copper tubes, and versatile 6-in-1 convertible modes, including a VIRAAT mode for extreme heat.

LG Electronics India has rolled out a new room air conditioner under its Essential Series, targeting the specific cooling challenges Indian households deal with every summer—punishing heat, sticky humidity, and unreliable power supply.Announced on Thursday, the AC runs on LG's Smart Inverter Compressor paired with Variable Tonnage Technology. In plain terms, it cools a room fast at startup, then dials back the compressor once the set temperature is hit. The result is lower noise, less energy waste, and a 10-year warranty on the compressor.

What makes it practical for Indian homes

The standout feature for many buyers will be the Stabilizer Free operation across a 140V–295V range—no extra stabilizer purchase needed.

LG has also added Gold Fin+ double-coated anti-corrosion technology and 100 percent copper tubes, both aimed at extending the unit's life in coastal and high-humidity regions. On the flexibility front, the AC offers Convertible 6-in-1 modes. Diet mode cuts power consumption for regular use, while VIRAAT mode pushes cooling capacity up by 109 percent and works at temperatures as low as 18°C—useful during peak May-June heat.

A Smart Care mode adjusts temperature and airflow automatically based on room conditions. The Essential Series is fully compliant with the 2026 BEE Star Rating norms, which tightened energy efficiency benchmarks this year."Our Essential Series air conditioner reflects a deep understanding of India's climate and the everyday needs of Indian households," said James Lee, president of LG's ES Company.Pricing and availability details have not been announced yet.
