Parliament Session Live Updates: The Lok Sabha has faced repeated disruptions since February 2 after Rahul Gandhi was stopped by the Chair from citing a media report based on excerpts from former Army chief General MM Naravane's unpublished memoir, which refers to the 2020 India-China standoff. Tensions escalated on Wednesday soon after Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman concluded her reply to the discussion on the Union Budget. Several opposition MPs staged a protest inside the Parliament complex, accusing the government of "selling out the country". Meanwhile, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju said a privilege motion would be moved against Gandhi, alleging that the Leader of Opposition had misled the House and made "baseless statements". Rijiju did not clarify who would move the notice or when it would be introduced, though it is understood that a member from the treasury benches is likely to initiate the process in the Lok Sabha. During the Budget debate, Gandhi sharply criticised the proposed India–United States interim trade agreement. He alleged that the government had "sold Bharat Mata", describing the deal as a "wholesale surrender".
