Twisha Sharma Case Hearing Live Updates: A bench of Chief Justice Surya Kant and Justices Joymalya Bagchi and Vipul M Pancholi of the Supreme Court is set to hear the suo motu case regarding the death of 31-year-old Twisha Sharma, who was found hanging at her matrimonial home in Bhopal. The death sparked a nationwide outrage as the victim's family accused her in-laws and husband of prolonged harassment over dowry claims. In addition, the family members also alleged that the victim's mother-in-law, Giribala Singh, who happens to be a retired judge, used her legal sources to seek judicial safeguard in this matter. As controversies flared up, the Supreme Court on Saturday took suo motu cognisance of the 'dowry' death case over alleged institutional bias and procedural discrepancies in the matter. Titled "alleged institutional bias and procedural discrepancies in the unnatural death of a young girl at her matrimonial home," the hearing of the case will begin soon in the apex court.
