Lohagad Murder Case: Siya Goyal Taken To Spot Where Police Allege Ketan's Killing Was Rehearsed

During a search of Goyal's residence in Pune's Market Yard area, police also recovered the clothes she allegedly wore on the day of the incident.

Police on Thursday took prime accused Siya Goyal to a spot in Pune where she and co-accused Chetan Chaudhary had allegedly practised pushing her fiancé, real estate businessman Ketan Agarwal, off a cliff before the murder at Lohagad Fort, officials said.

The visit formed part of the ongoing investigation into the June 18 killing of Agarwal, 25, who was allegedly pushed to his death from a cliff at Lohagad Fort in Pune district.

Goyal, 20, and Chaudhary, 22, who are alleged to have been in a relationship, have been arrested in the case and are in police custody till July 3. Agarwal and Goyal were scheduled to marry in November this year.

“Investigation has revealed that Siya and Chetan had rehearsed at an open space near a club in Lullanagar how to push Ketan off the cliff at Lohagad Fort. Today, Siya was taken to the spot, where she identified the place where they had allegedly carried out the rehearsal," a Pune Rural Police official said.

During a search of Goyal’s residence in Pune’s Market Yard area, police also recovered the clothes she allegedly wore on the day of the incident.

According to investigators, Agarwal was allegedly killed because he had become an obstacle in the relationship between Goyal and Chaudhary.

On Wednesday, Pune Rural Police recreated the crime scene with Chaudhary, who is accused of being part of the conspiracy to murder Agarwal. Earlier, on Sunday, investigators carried out a similar reconstruction with Goyal, during which a dummy was pushed off the cliff in her presence.

Police said Ketan Agarwal’s father, Vishal Agarwal, stated in his complaint that his son had repeatedly expressed concern over Goyal’s closeness to Chaudhary, claiming she frequently mentioned him during their conversations.

Investigators also said Goyal had previously sabotaged the couple’s planned pre-wedding trip to Bali, Indonesia.
