 Kalyani Priyadarshan’s film opens strong; crosses Rs 2.6 crore mark

The Mollywood box office has welcomed its first-ever female superhero with 'Lokah: Chapter 1 – Chandra', led by Kalyani Priyadarshan.Released on the last day, August 28, the film has kicked off on a strong note.

According to the early estimates by the Sacnilk website, the film earned Rs 2.60 crore net across India on day one.

Occupancy trends for 'Lokah'

Reportedly, the film registered an overall 41.38% occupancy in Malayalam markets on opening day. The morning and afternoon shows saw moderate numbers such as 24.95% and 28.32% respectively.

The Kalyani Priyadarshan starrer picked up pace in the evening (42.51%) before soaring to an impressive 69.75% during night shows.

The film has particularly shone in Kochi, where it clocked a stellar 61% occupancy overall, peaking at 95% in the night shows across 114 screenings. Trivandrum followed with 41.75% occupancy, while Bengaluru and Chennai recorded 36% and 27% respectively.Meanwhile, the audiences are loving 'Lokah' and the Twitter reactions are the example.
