HRD Minister Nara Lokesh on Tuesday praised A. Harshitha Tejasri, a Secondary Grade Teacher (SGT) at Sri Mullapudi Venkata Rao Municipal Primary School (Shantana Puri Colony, Godarigunta-2) in Kakinada urban, for making learning lessons a fun experience for the students.
In a statement, Mr. Lokesh said besides classroom lessons, Ms. Tejasri taught children moral values, cleanliness, and healthy habits through games and songs.
“She is an inspiration as she promotes Guaranteed Foundational Literacy and Numeracy (FLN) and play-based teaching methods through social media,” the Minister said, adding that the way she conducts contextual activities to help children understand the richness of the Telugu language is commendable.
“With the support of the education officials and fellow teachers, her efforts in increasing the student enrolment from 134 to 183 in the previous academic year deserve special praise,” said Mr. Lokesh.
He also condoled the death of the headmaster of Zilla Parishad High School at Gavinivaripalem, Chirala mandal Srinivasa Rao. He said it was deeply distressing to know that the headmaster lost his life after a cable wire got entangled around his neck while he was riding a motorcycle. “I pray to God that his soul may rest in peace,” he said, adding that the government would stand by the bereaved family in every possible way.
