Andhra Pradesh Education and IT Minister Nara Lokesh paid a courtesy call on Union Jal Shakti Minister C.R. Patil in New Delhi on Tuesday.
During the meeting, Mr. Lokesh congratulated Mr. Patil on winning four consecutive Lok Sabha elections from Navsari, Gujarat, each with increasing margins, and for earning the admiration of the people. He also asked about the secret behind such sustained public support and electoral success.
Mr. Patil attributed his success to staying constantly connected with the people, being among them, and addressing their concerns directly. He cited several initiatives, including transforming Navsari into India’s first ‘Smokeless District’ through development programmes, contributing to Surat’s urban growth, strengthening the textile and diamond industries with supportive policies and infrastructure, and overseeing the development of Surat Airport with international-standard facilities.
Mr. Lokesh also apprised the Union Minister of the development and welfare programmes implemented in Andhra Pradesh over the past 15 months under the coalition government.
