The Andhra Pradesh Lorry Owners’ Association has urged the Union government to establish a Transport Ombudsman for the road transport sector to address the challenges faced by truck operators across the country.
Speaking to The Hindu on Sunday, the association’s State president Y. V. Eswara Rao, who is also vice-president, South Zone, of the All India Motor Transport Congress, said several pressing issues require urgent attention and institutional intervention. He said a dedicated Transport Ombudsman would help provide timely solutions to grievances affecting truck owners and drivers.
