Chilling Parallels Between Ketan Agarwal And Raja Raghuvanshi Murder Cases.

Ketan Agarwal Murder: Two men, two scenic locations, and two cases that began with moments that were supposed to mark happiness. Pune businessman Ketan Agarwal had been looking ahead to his wedding, while Indore-based businessman Raja Raghuvanshi was on his honeymoon in Meghalaya with his wife.

But both cases later turned into murder investigations, with police alleging that the victims were killed as part of conspiracies involving their partners and another person. The similarities between the two cases have drawn public attention — from the alleged motives behind the crimes to attempts to make the deaths appear accidental.

The Chilling Parallels

Raja Raghuvanshi went missing during his honeymoon trip to Meghalaya in May. His body was later recovered from a gorge near the Wei Sawdong Falls area in Sohra. What initially appeared to be a tragic incident during a tourist visit turned into a murder investigation after police began probing the circumstances surrounding his disappearance.

According to Meghalaya Police, Raja’s wife Sonam Raghuvanshi allegedly conspired with her lover Raj Kushwaha and others to kill him during the trip. Officials claimed that the honeymoon journey was used as an opportunity to execute the alleged plan.

Similarly, Ketan Agarwal’s death at Lohagad Fort near Lonavala was initially reported as a fall from a height. However, police later alleged that his death was not accidental. They claimed that Agarwal’s fiancée Siya Goyal and her alleged lover Chetan Chaudhary were involved in a plan to kill him.

Agarwal, who was reportedly preparing for his marriage, was allegedly taken to the fort before being pushed from a height, according to the police.

Alleged Motives Rooted In Relationships

A key similarity in both cases is the role of relationships in the police investigations.

In the Meghalaya case, investigators alleged that Raja’s wife wanted to be with another man and the murder was planned to remove him from the relationship. Several accused, including Sonam and others, were arrested during the investigation.

In the Pune case, police have alleged that Agarwal’s fiancée was involved in a conspiracy with another man. The circumstances surrounding the relationship and the events leading up to his death are still being examined.

While the details and evidence in both cases are still part of ongoing legal proceedings, investigators in both states have focused on alleged relationship conflicts as a possible motive.

Attempts To Make Deaths Appear Accidental

Another striking similarity is the alleged attempt to present both deaths as accidents.

In Raja’s case, the remote location of the Meghalaya gorge initially created the impression that he may have suffered an accidental fall. However, police later claimed that evidence collected during the investigation pointed towards a planned crime.

In Ketan Agarwal’s case, the location at Lohagad Fort — a popular tourist destination with steep terrain — also raised initial questions about whether the death was accidental. Police later claimed that the circumstances indicated a deliberate act rather than a mishap.

Investigators in both cases examined the locations, movements of those involved, and other evidence to determine whether the falls were accidental or part of a larger conspiracy.

How Police Cracked The Cases

In both investigations, questions raised by families and inconsistencies in the initial versions of events played an important role.

In the Raja Raghuvanshi case, police investigated the couple’s movements, questioned suspects, and examined digital and other evidence before making arrests. The investigation expanded after authorities began suspecting that Raja’s disappearance was not a case of misfortune.

In the Ketan Agarwal case, police scrutiny reportedly increased after family members raised doubts over the accident theory. Police examined the sequence of events, questioned those connected to the victim, and arrested the accused after gathering evidence.
