Six-time Grand Slam champion Carlos Alcaraz got a flurry of marriage proposals during his fourth-round match against Tommy Paul at the Australian Open, the video of which has gone viral on social media.

As the high-stakes clash played out at Rod Laver Arena, the crowd could not resist some cheeky banter. Calls of “Carlos, marry my daughter," “Marry my sister-in-law" and even a daring “Marry me" echoed through the stadium, breaking the tension and drawing laughter from the fans.

Alcaraz thrashed Paul in straight sets to move into the quarterfinals of the Australian Open. Watch the video here:

Alcaraz seemed amused but unfazed, flashing his signature grin while staying locked in as he exchanged fierce baseline rallies with Paul. The playful interruptions did not break his rhythm; instead, they added a festive vibe to the match, highlighting his rising global fame beyond his on-court prowess.

Alcaraz was in ominous touch at Rod Laver Arena, dismissing Paul 7-6 (8/6), 6-4, 7-5 in a masterclass.

Alcaraz plays home hope and sixth seed Alex de Minaur or 10th seed Alexander Bublik of Kazakhstan next.

Alcaraz, who is yet to drop a set at this year’s tournament, has never gone beyond the quarter-finals in Melbourne.

If Alcaraz can break his Aussie duck, he will become the youngest man in history to win a career Grand Slam of all four majors.

Alcaraz has in the past struggled with precision and a lack of consistency in his serving technique.

Alcaraz is now sporting a new-look serve that has become a handy weapon and has been compared to Novak Djokovic’s serve.

“Djokovic messaged me to say ‘you have to pay me’," Alcaraz said in his on-court interview after making light work of Paul, to laughter from an adoring crowd.

Later in the men’s draw, three-time finalist Daniil Medvedev could face another marathon against up-and-coming American Learner Tien.
