LU to hold PG entrance exam from July 16

Lucknow: Lucknow University (LU) on Sunday announced the schedule for its postgraduate entrance test (PGET) for the 2026-27 academic session. The entrance examinations for admission to nearly 4,000 postgraduate seats will be held from July 16 to July 22.University officials said the PGET question papers will be based on the syllabus of LU’s undergraduate programmes. Admissions to postgraduate courses offered by the faculties of arts, commerce, law, science, fine arts, yoga and alternative medicine, as well as university institutes, will be based on candidates’ performance in the entrance examination.For traditional postgraduate programmes, the entrance test will be of 90 minutes duration.Admissions to the MBA programme will be based on CAT 2025 scores, with the minimum cut-off fixed at 50 percentile for the general category and 45 percentile for reserved categories, as per the university’s reservation policy.Vacant MBA seats after CAT-based admissions will be filled through the Lucknow University Management Entrance Test (LUMET). The test will consist of 100 objective-type questions to be answered in 90 minutes, covering general awareness, English verbal ability and comprehension, data interpretation, and logical reasoning.

Each question will carry two marks, with no negative marking for wrong or unattempted answers.Admission to the MEd programme will be based on the combined performance in the entrance examination, physical fitness test, game proficiency test and interview. The entrance test will comprise 100 multiple-choice questions to be answered in 90 minutes.
