Lucas Di Grassi is a Formula E champion, and he chose a special birthday gift for his father’s 80th birthday - a stylish camping jeep. The Lola Yamaha ABT driver gifted his father a civilian version of the Brazilian military vehicle, the Agrale Marrua.

He added that his father was fit enough to drive the vehicle and that the car was the perfect birthday present.

Lucas Di Grassi’s heartfelt birthday post for his father

Lucas Di Grassi shared a post dedicated to his father on Instagram to celebrate the milestone. Expressing his gratitude while revealing the birthday gift, the 41-year-old Formula E racer wrote: “My dad's 80th birthday present today. I love you and thank you for everything. Always! He's in great shape and on his way to beating my grandmother's record of 104 years.”

One of his followers, seemingly someone close to him, commented: “Creator and Creature!!! Congratulations @lucasdigrassi for the initiative, which is the most sincere recognition of everything your father did for you. Let's go for a ride in that machine later.”

A fan wrote: “Congratulations to your old man - cheers and enjoy the new toy.” Another wished: “Great, Vito!! Hugs to him!!” One more message read: “Congratulations to Mr.

Vito. Wishing him good health.”

What is the Agrale Marrua?

The Agrale Marrua is primarily used by the Brazilian Army and Marine Corps but is also available to civilians in a modified version. It is known for its rugged build, corrosion resistance, and capability to handle harsh terrain and challenging environments. The vehicle is priced between $67,000 and $85,366.

All about Lucas Di Grassi’s Formula E career

Lucas Di Grassi is currently competing in his 12th season in Formula E and has been part of the electric racing series since its inception in 2014.

He won the Formula E World Championship in the 2016-17 season with ABT. He also competes in other racing formats from time to time.Di Grassi will return to action for Round 6 in Madrid, which will mark the maiden edition of the Madrid E-Prix. Drivers are expected to start the event with a clean slate. The race is scheduled for March 20-21.Di Grassi currently sits at the bottom of the Drivers’ Standings, as Lola Yamaha ABT has yet to score its first points.
