A milkman in Lucknow was caught spitting into milk, sparking outrage in the area. Enraged by the milkman's action, the customer, Luv Shukla, claimed that he uses the milk regularly for offerings to Lord Shiva. Saying that his religious belief was defiled by the man's action, Shukla demanded strict action.
In the CCTV footage accessed by India Today TV, the milkman is seen climbing up the stairs to the house with a can of milk. After he rings the bell, he looks around and then spits into the can.
According to reports, a person named Pappu had been regularly spitting into the milk supplied to Luv Shukla, sparking allegations of “spit jihad.”
Following the incident, Shukla's family filed a complaint at the Gomti Nagar police station. During the investigation, it was revealed that the man's real name was Mohammad Sharif, who had been distributing milk under the alias Pappu.
After learning about the incident, the Akhil Bharat Hindu Mahasabha members gathered at the police station and demanded strict action against the accused.
The organisation’s national spokesperson, Shishya Chaturvedi, said that "spit jihad" is spreading rampantly and that individuals involved in such acts should be charged under the National Security Act.
He added that the incident is particularly serious as it occurred during the ongoing Kanwar Yatra, a time when milk is widely used for the worship of Lord Shiva.
"CCTV footage has been obtained that reportedly shows the milkman spitting into the milk. The police are currently investigating and will take appropriate action," said senior local police official Shashank Singh.
