In response, the actress reflected on her journey and acknowledged that not all of her career decisions were driven by creative satisfaction. Speaking honestly about that period, she said, "I did a bunch of films I wasn't proud of for sure." The actress suggested that her perspective toward filmmaking has evolved over time.

Today, she views her work through a different lens compared to the early years of her career.Samantha also discussed the dramatic transformation she experienced after entering the film industry. The actress recalled her journey from Pallavaram in Chennai to becoming one of the most recognized stars in South Indian cinema. With growing success came immense attention from audiences, the media and the industry. According to Samantha, public perception gradually began to influence how she viewed herself.

Reflecting on that phase, she said, "What you or your channel wrote about me or what I was described as in the press defined who I was. And that was addictive."During the peak of her commercial success, Samantha delivered a string of box-office hits and earned the reputation of being a "golden leg." The actress admitted that she became deeply invested in the image that had been created around her. At that stage, her primary focus was on the commercial performance of her films rather than artistic growth or self-improvement as a performer.Describing her mindset during those years, Samantha said, "I have a hit, a blockbuster and that is enough was my frame of mind back then. Never did I feel like, 'Am I talented? Can I improve? How am I contributing to the film?'"As Samantha gained more experience, her expectations from cinema gradually began to evolve. The actress explained that she never felt disappointed with the opportunities she received. Instead, she realized that her own ambitions and goals were changing. Speaking about this transformation, she said, "At no point did I feel that I was not getting what I wanted from films. It was just that what I wanted from films kept changing.
