After impressing family audiences with its emotional performances on the big screen, 'Maaman' is now set to enter the OTT space. The family drama, which released theatrically on May 16, 2025, stars Soori and Aishwarya Lekshmi in the lead and has garnered a fair share of praise for its relatable plot and strong supporting cast.

Streaming date and platform confirmed

The makers have now confirmed that 'Maaman' will premiere on ZEE5 on August 8, 2025. The actor had himself revealed that ZEE Network had acquired both satellite and digital rights, now with the official release date out. In his X post, he wrote, "It’s official! @ZeeTamil secures the satellite rights and @ZEE5Tamil the digital rights for #Maaman #MaamanFromMay16".

A story of family bonds

'Maaman' is a film that shows family ties and emotional relationships, telling the story of Inba (Soori) and his connection to his sister Girija's son, Nilan.

Girija, portrayed by Swasika, struggles for years to have a child, and when Nilan is finally born, Inba makes the boy the center of his world. As a result, Inba's strong connection to Nilan starts to interfere with his own life.Later, Inba falls in love with and eventually marries Rekha (Aishwarya Lekshmi), his sister's gynecologist. But even after marriage, Nilan's constant presence in their life creates a rift between the newlyweds. Rekha finds herself unable to get quality time with her husband, leading to rising tensions.Maaman features a talented ensemble cast including Rajkiran, Master Prageeth Sivan, Baba Bhaskar, Bala Saravanan, Jayaprakash, Viji Chandrasekhar, and Geetha Kailasam, with Tamil actor Vimal making a special cameo appearance.
