“A meeting was held between the BSF and police officials on Friday. They (police) sent the seized drone to the forensic laboratory of the state government, after which it will be handed over to us,” said a BSF official.

The official added that the drone had two high-resolution cameras, not usually attached to civilian drones. The drone would be sent to Delhi to be further examined at the small equipment workshop of the BSF headquarters.

A young boy spotted the drone lying in a paddy field, nearly 650 metres from the India-Bangladesh border, and he took it home and washed it with water. The police later seized the drone after the boy’s family informed them about it.

In April, a drone suspected to have come from Bangladesh was found at Ballamukha in Belonia of South Tripura district.
