Madhubani administration tightens vigil on agencies

In a decisive move to uphold consumer rights, the Madhubani district administration has activated an intensive oversight program targeting LPG suppliers in response to numerous complaints about irregularities in service. Inspection teams are now combing through operations to guarantee compliance with government standards, thoroughly evaluating stock levels and distribution practices.

Madhubani: To ensure smooth and transparent LPG supply, the Madhubani district administration has placed all LPG agencies under strict scrutiny. Teams of officials have been formed on the instructions of district magistrate Anand Sharma to conduct thorough inspections and investigations. The drive aims to check stock levels, distribution systems, booking procedures, timely delivery to consumers, and compliance with all govt norms. Any irregularity detected during inspections will invite strict punitive action, including suspension or cancellation of licences.“Serious complaints of irregularities in the functioning of some agencies have been received recently,” the administration said in an official press release issued on Friday.

“The DM has made it clear that hoarding of gas cylinders, black-marketing, discrimination against consumers, irregular distribution or violation of rules will not be tolerated. Strict action will be taken against erring agencies.”The DM also issued stern warnings to all LPG agency operators to maintain full transparency, ensure timely supply of cylinders and strictly follow govt guidelines. “No laxity or irregularity will be tolerated,” he warned.

At the same time, the administration appealed to the public not to pay attention to rumours. “There is sufficient availability of LPG gas in the district. There is no need to panic or hoard cylinders unnecessarily,” the release stated. Consumers facing any problem with gas supply or noticing irregularities have been urged to immediately report the matter to the district administration.
