Indore: More than 3.26 lakh students secured admissions to undergraduate (UG), postgraduate (PG) and teacher education programmes (NCTE) across Madhya Pradesh till Friday. With second round of College Level Counselling (CLC) now underway, the state’s admission process has crossed the halfway mark.Nearly three lakh sanctioned seats, however, are still vacant and department of higher education (DHE) has now pinned its hopes on the second CLC round, where admissions are being conducted every day until July 15.According to the latest admission data available from DHE, 3,26,687 students have confirmed admissions against the state’s total intake of 6,32,791 seats. The admission figures come after completion of two rounds of online counselling and first CLC round. The data also indicates strong interest among aspirants, with 5,79,306 students registering for admissions this year till Friday. Of them, 4,94,361 candidates have completed document verification, suggesting that a large number are still in the race for available seats during the ongoing counselling phase.Undergraduate programmes have accounted for the bulk of admissions, with 2,34,054 students enrolling against 4,35,773 seats.
Postgraduate courses have witnessed 70,717 admissions out of an intake of 1,37,231, while NCTE-approved teacher education programmes have admitted 21,916 students against 59,787 seats.Admissions, however, remain uneven across institutions. While government colleges have filled a substantial share of their seats, private colleges continue to report significant vacancies. As per the latest vacancy list, private institutions have 599 non-NCTE and 687 NCTE seats available.
Government colleges have 565 non-NCTE seats vacant, while government university teaching departments have 18 seats yet to be filled.Officials believe that the daily counselling model introduced in the second CLC round will help colleges fill these vacancies quickly. Under the process, students can register and fill choices until 3 pm every day, with document verification completed by 4 pm and merit-based allotments released by 5 pm.
Candidates must pay the admission fee by 4 pm the following day to confirm their seats.“The first CLC round has witnessed encouraging participation, with more than 3.26 lakh admissions already completed. Students who could not secure a seat earlier should not lose hope. Vacancies are being updated every day, giving candidates fresh opportunities to gain admission based on merit. We advise students to keep checking the e-Pravesh portal and complete the admission formalities within the prescribed deadlines,” said Tulsiram Dahayat, OSD and DHE admission in charge.=================///PointersAdmissions Till July 33,26,687 confirmed against total of 6,32,791 seats after two online counselling & first CLC roundsUG courses: 2,34,054 enrolled against 4,35,773 seatsPG courses: 70,717 admissions against 1,37,231 seatsNCTE-approved teacher edu courses: 21,916 admitted against 59,787 seats
