Madhya Pradesh shocker: Youth changes gender for marriage, then partner backs out; rape case filed

BHOPAL: A case of alleged rape has been registered in Narmadapuram district based on a complaint filed by a youth who had recently undergone gender reassignment surgery.The suspect, identified as Shubham Yadav, is currently absconding, and teams have been formed to trace his location.

SP Gurkaran Singh told TOI that the case was registered at Bhopal and then transferred to Narmadapuram for further investigation.The youth said he was confined at the suspect's residence in Gwaltoli for several days. Police are expected to take the complainant to that location for further verification.Investigations revealed that the two were in a relationship for long and recently the complainant had undergone a sex reassignment surgery at Indore. Later, Yadav refused to marry him. An FIR has been registered.
