Justin Herbert has a birthday coming up, but it was his relationship with Madison Beer that unexpectedly stirred conversation among Los Angeles Chargers fans this week. As the quarterback prepares to turn 28 on March 10, a podcast appearance by Beer days earlier quietly sparked a wave of curiosity online.
It was not about football or celebrity headlines. It was about relationships, honesty, and the messy emotions that often sit behind them. The pop singer, who celebrated her 27th birthday on March 5, appeared relaxed and reflective during a recent conversation on the Zach Sang Show. Yet a candid admission about her past relationships quickly traveled across social media. Fans of Herbert noticed the remarks almost instantly.
Many interpreted her words through the lens of her current relationship with the Chargers quarterback, which became public in 2025 and has drawn steady attention ever since.

During the March 6 episode of the podcast, Beer spoke openly about how difficult it can be to walk away from relationships even when people around you insist it is the right decision.
"I think it’s easy for people — I don't know if you guys have had this, where if you're with someone, it's easy for them to be like, 'Dude, just end it.'
It's not good for you. It's not good for either of you; just get out of it.' It's not that easy," Beer said on the podcast. She then offered a more personal look into how she approaches love."And admittedly, I'm a co-dependent person, who I love really hard. And if you're someone who I fall in love with, I usually stay pretty attached to you for a long time. And I think that I will always have hope that things will work out, and get better.
Obviously, there comes a point where you have to be like, 'Enough is enough.' But I have a hard time with that," Beer added.Beer continued by acknowledging that her outlook may stem from earlier experiences."And I don't know. I think that probably also comes from a lot of my childhood stuff, I'm sure. And things that have happened that have made me that way. But it's important to talk about, because I think a lot of people feel guilty, and they feel stupid, almost."She also described the emotional loop that sometimes forms when couples struggle to let go."I know that me and my ex-boyfriend, we would speak up and get back together, and our friends would always be like {What are you doing?] We just want to make it work. It's just like, when is it time? And especially when you get in the cycle of break up, back together, break up, back together. It's like, when does it feel like it's really, really done? It's a lot," she added.
Those comments quickly made their way across fan pages and discussion threads. Supporters of Herbert voiced hope that the singer’s reflections were simply part of an honest conversation about the past rather than a hint about the present. If anything, recent social media activity suggested the opposite. On her birthday, Beer posted a series of celebratory photos on Instagram wearing a tiara and a pink ribbon that read “It’s my birthday,” captioned simply, “➶♡ ︎27 ♡➴”.Among the many replies, one stood out. Herbert commented with just two words.“My love.”For fans who saw the podcast clip earlier in the day, that brief message felt like a reassuring note.
