Madras HC clears ‘Bro Code’ title as Ravi Mohan wins final legal battle against liquor giant - Reports

The legal battle over the title 'Bro Code' has officially ended after the Madras High Court recorded a compromise between Ravi Mohan Studios and a Delhi-based liquor manufacturer. Following the agreement between the concerned parties, the case in which both parties filed a complaint has now been withdrawn.

The court order, issued recently has indeed brought great relief to the film's team, removing any hurdle for the project to continue its work.

Interim relief paved the way for resolution

Earlier, Ravi Mohan's production company filed a plea regarding the film's title because Indo Bevs Private Limited objected to its trademark rights over the same title. During the plea hearing, the High Court provided interim protection by stopping the company from interfering with or objecting to the filmmakers using the title, as reported by News 18.

This step was crucial, allowing the filmmakers to continue production and promotional work.

Background of the legal clash

The dispute began when the Delhi-based company sent an email asserting it held the rights to the name and that it should not be used for the film. In response, Ravi Mohan Studios moved the High Court seeking a direction to stop the firm from interfering with the title. The court’s earlier interim order had already tilted the balance in favour of the filmmakers, and the recent compromise between both sides has now formally closed the issue.

'Bro Code' moves ahead without legal obstacles

Directed by Karthik Yogi and starring SJ Suryah, Arjun Ashokan, and others, 'Bro Code' is preparing for release; its teaser was released back in August 2025. Having received a ruling from the High Court, the production team is no longer facing obstacles and can focus entirely on the movie's release. With the ruling in place, the movie's title is definite, paving the way for its screening in theaters.
