Majithia's anticipatory bail plea heard, court questions police over CCTV footage

AMRITSAR : A local court on Thursday heard the anticipatory bail petition filed by Shiromani Akali Dal leader Bikram Singh Majithia in connection with FIR No. 91 registered against him at Majitha Police Station.His counsel, Advocate Bhagwant Singh Sialka, said that after hearing arguments from both sides, the court fixed June 15 as the next date of hearing.

During the proceedings, the court made strong observations against the police for failing to produce the CCTV footage from Majitha Police Station.According to the allegations in FIR No. 91, Majithia and more than 50 of his supporters allegedly entered Majitha Police Station, tore up police documents, and obstructed government work. A detailed hearing on the FIR registered in connection with these allegations was held in the court.
