Major General G. Srinivas, who played a key role in ensuring operational readiness during Operation Sindoor as Major General, Operational Logistics, of a command on the western front, assumed charge as the General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the Telangana and Andhra Sub Area (TASA) on Wednesday (July 1, 2026).
After assuming command, Major General Srinivas paid homage to the fallen soldiers by laying a wreath at the War Memorial in a solemn ceremony.
An alumnus of the National Defence Academy (NDA) Khadakwasla, and the Indian Military Academy (IMA) Dehradun, Major General Srinivas was commissioned into the Regiment of Artillery in 1990.
During his 35-year military career, Major General Srinivas has held several key command, staff and instructional appointments. His assignments include service with the United Nations mission in the Democratic Republic of Congo, a tenure in the Military Secretary Branch, command of a brigade in a strike formation, Brigadier Quartermaster of a Corps and Chief Instructor at the School of Artillery.
In his previous assignment as Commandant of the College of Defence Management (CDM) Secunderabad, he oversaw the conduct of the Higher Defence Management Course.
