Mammootty turns gangster; 'Falimy' director Nitish Sahadev’s film to have no heroine in the story - Reports

Fans eagerly await Mammootty's next project with 'Falimy' director Nitish Sahadev, a big-budget action entertainer set on the Kerala-Tamil Nadu border. He'll portray a gangster using a Thiruvananthapuram accent. Notably, a nine-year-old child will play a key role, with no heroine featured. Shooting is slated to begin in May.

Director Nitish Sahadev received much love from the audiences after the comedy film 'Falimy' and his collaboration with Mammootty is highly awaited by the fans.Recent reports say that the collaboration is all set after months of uncertainty.

The film, originally announced earlier this year, was briefly put on hold as the director moved on to a Tamil project.

Now, reports from Front Row suggest that the project is back in full swing.

A big–budget action entertainer

Reports indicate that this will be the biggest project produced under Mammootty's production house to date. Set against the Kerala–Tamil Nadu border landscape, the film reportedly features Mammootty in a full-blown gangster avatar.

The tone is described as a “fun action commercial entertainer". Mammootty will reportedly say Thiruvananthapuram accent in the movie. Reports say that the team is planning to begin shooting in May. One of the unique elements is the absence of a heroine, which seems interesting as Mammootty's recent release 'Kalamkaval' had more than 20 heroines. Instead, a nine-year-old child is expected to play an important role alongside Mammootty.

‘Kalamkaval’ continues its strong run

Mammootty’s current release 'Kalamkaval' continues its impressive theatrical stride. The crime thriller, directed by Jithin K. Jose, has completed its first week with notable consistency. Early estimates from the Sacnilk website suggest that Day 7 collections held steady at around Rs 2 crore, pushing India net totals to approximately Rs 26.30 crore. On the other hand, after 'Kalamkaval', Mammootty is ready for his next big film. It is none other than the action film 'Patriot' directed by Mahesh Narayanan. The film also has Mohanlal, Fahadh Faasil, Nayanthara, Kunchacko Boban, and many others playing important roles.Meanwhile, Mammootty's previous film was the action film 'Bazooka', which flopped at the box office.
