Man arrested after 10 years on the run in Madhya Pradesh’s Satna

BHOPAL: A man who had been absconding for nearly 10 years despite a permanent warrant issued against him was arrested by police in Satna district. The accused, identified as Rinku, alias Krishnendra Jaiswal, 42, a resident of Hirondi village, was wanted in a 2014 case registered at Majhgawan police station under sections 354, 323, 506, and 34 of the IPC.

Several attempts were made to trace him, and the Satna superintendent of police had even announced a reward of Rs 2,500 for information leading to his arrest.Acting on a tip-off, a police team surrounded the area near a government school in Hirondi and arrested him on Tuesday. He was later produced before the court.“A permanent warrant had been pending against him for the past 10 years. He had escaped to Mumbai and evaded police. Such warrants are issued when an accused repeatedly misses court appearances after summons are not executed. We are also running a drive to ensure all pending permanent warrants are executed. In many cases, accused individuals believe they are free once they get bail, but the trial continues. Now this accused is in jail, and once he gets bail, the regular case will proceed,” Majhgawan police station in-charge Aditya Singh Dhurvey told TOI.
