Man arrested for attacking KSEB overseer over power outage during World Cup football match

Kottayam: A person who attacked a KSEB overseer over power outage while watching World Cup football match, has been arrested.Karukachal police arrested Rolfi Varghese, 27, of Devagiri Kalloorthazhcha for attacking KSEB Pathanad section overseer M K Manojkumar, 55, around 1.30am on Thursday.

After power was disrupted due to a tree falling in Moolappeedika area at night, Varghese reached KSEB office and enquired about the matter.

He created a ruckus with an iron rod. On learning that employees were rectifying the fault at the spot where the tree fell, he reached the scene. He attacked the overseer and a worker named M K Sabu after hurling abuses. Manojkumar sought treatment at Pampady Taluk Hospital.Rolfi, who was produced in court, was remanded.
