MUMBAI: A 40-year-old man has been arrested by Samta Nagar Police for sexually assaulting a female dog in Kandivali East. The complaint was lodged by a social worker.According to the FIR, the social worker was returning to her Kandivali East residence from her uncle's home on 1 February when she noticed a group of people gathered near a drain by Lokhandwala Complex. On approaching, she found the accused lying in the drain with a female dog that was yelping in pain. The dog had suffered injuries to its private parts. The social worker rushed the animal to Parel Animal Hospital, where it was treated. Doctors confirmed the animal had been sexually assaultedThe social worker then approached Samta Nagar Police and lodged a complaint. An FIR was registered under the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act and the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita against the accused, Sanjay Gaud
