Man arrested for stabbing woman to death in Indi

Vijayapura Police arrested a man for killing a 30-year-old woman employee of the Social Welfare Department in Indi on Wednesday.

Sanju Bansode was arrested on the charge of stabbing Renuka Sayabanna Kannolli that led to her death in a hospital.

He stabbed her while she was walking to her office.

The victim’s relatives have complained to the police that the accused had had an extra-marital relationship with the victim for some time. But she had broken it off.

The accused was said to be upset about this. He quarrelled with her before attacking her, they said in a complaint.

By-standers shifted her to a hospital in Vijayapura where she died.

The victim was widowed a few years ago. She landed the job on the grounds of compassion.
