Man arrested in Mysuru family suicide case

Mysuru: Mysuru district police have arrested Ullas Gowda in connection with the alleged suicide of a bride-to-be and her parents in T Narasipura taluk. He has been accused of abetment of suicide, and an investigation is underway, police said.The accused told police that the woman was unwilling to marry the man chosen by her parents and that, at her behest, he had shared their photos with the prospective bridegroom.However, SP S Mallikarjun dismissed Ullas Gowda’s claim, stating that if that were the case, it was unclear why the woman had held him responsible for their extreme step in her death note. The three victims — Shivanna, his wife Nagarathna and their younger daughter Rakshitha — were found dead at their residence in Kempaiahanahundi in T Narasipura taluk. They are suspected to have died by suicide after consuming a toxic liquid.Police said the family took the extreme step after photos of Ullas Gowda and Rakshitha together were allegedly shared with the prospective groom. T Narasipura police are probing the case.
