Man beaten to death by son over petty issue in Kaimur

Sasaram: A 60-year-old man was allegedly beaten to death by his son following a minor dispute over tying a goat in Barkatta Tola of Ismailpur village under Chainpur police station area of Kaimur district on Tuesday night.The deceased was identified as Chulahan Bind (60), a resident of Barkatta Tola. Police recovered the body on Wednesday morning, conducted the inquest proceedings, and sent it to the district hospital for postmortem. The body was later handed over to the family.According to the deceased’s younger son, Jitendra Kumar Bind, the incident was triggered after his middle brother, Sonu Bind, had tied a goat in the passage of their house.

Their father objected and asked him to shift the animal to another location to keep the pathway clear. The request allegedly led to a heated argument, which quickly escalated into violence. Sonu allegedly assaulted his father with sticks, leaving him critically injured.The injured father was first taken to the Community Health Centre in Chainpur, where doctors after giving first-aid referred him to the district hospital due to his serious condition. After emergency treatment there, he was referred to a higher medical centre. While family members were taking him to Varanasi for advanced treatment, he succumbed to his injuries on the way.Police have initiated an investigation into the incident, and further legal action is being taken. The accused son is absconding.
