Man beaten to death over dog-feeding dispute at roadside dhaba in Raipur

A late-night meal at a roadside dhaba in Raipur ended in tragedy in the early hours of Tuesday after a minor argument over feeding a dog escalated into a fatal assault. The victim, identified as Shiv Prasad Dhruv, was having food at the dhaba when a dispute broke out with the cook and one of his associates.

According to police, what began as a verbal argument soon turned violent. During the altercation, Dhruv was allegedly assaulted and suffered a serious chest injury. He collapsed at the spot after losing consciousness.

People present at the dhaba rushed him to a nearby hospital, but doctors declared him dead on arrival. Police later conducted inquest proceedings and sent the body for post-mortem examination.

The cook and his associate have been taken into custody for questioning. Preliminary findings suggest the dispute was trivial in nature, but the assault proved fatal due to the severity of the injury.

Police said the exact cause of death will be confirmed after the post-mortem report is received. A detailed investigation into the incident is underway.
