Man fatally knocked down by KSEB vehicle

A man was fatally knocked down by a KSEB vehicle while crossing the road at Chelad near Kothamangalam on Friday afternoon.

The deceased was identified as Thankappan, 60, of Thrikkariyoor. He used to sell pots and kitchen utensils along Kothamangalam-Kerampara road.

The vehicle, which was reportedly speeding, rammed an electric post and a two-wheeler after hitting the pedestrian.

Though the victim was rushed to a nearby hospital, he succumbed to his injuries shortly.

The Kothamangalam police, who registered a case against the driver, said there were reports that the KSEB vehicle was rashly driven and was on the wrong side.
