Man hacked to death in Namakkal

NAMAKKAL: A 25-year-old unidentified man was hacked to death at Mullainagar in Namakkal on Wednesday night.Police said the man sustained deep injuries on his neck, cheeks and hands.

A cell phone, a watch and shoes were recovered from the spot. However, the phone was found broken, making it difficult for investigators to establish his identity.The body was shifted to the Namakkal Govt Medical College Hospital for postmortem.Namakkal superintendent of police S Vimala and additional SP Akash Joshi visited the scene. A sniffer dog squad and forensic experts were pressed into service to gather evidence.Police launched a probe to identify victim, his place of origin and the motive behind the murder.
