Man hospitalised after putting dead snake in mouth for reel

Bijnor: A 44-year-old man from Shadipur village in Bijnor district was hospitalised after repeatedly putting a dead snake in his mouth while shooting a social media video.Salim is a father of four and works as a labourer. According to locals, a snake entered his house on Thursday evening, following which he killed it and began recording the video.

Several neighbours also gathered at the spot and filmed the act on their mobile phones.Soon after the stunt, Salim’s health reportedly started deteriorating. Family members initially took him for traditional faith healing instead of medical treatment. When his condition did not improve, he was taken to a community health centre and later referred to the district hospital.Dr Shubham Chikara, a medical officer at the community health centre, said the patient was recovering. “No social media video is worth risking one’s life,” he said, urging people not to endanger themselves for online popularity.
