Man killed by sister, nephew
Agra: A 27-year-old man was allegedly killed by his sister and nephew following a dispute over Rs 4,500 in Aligarh’s Nagla Patwari area under Quarsi police station limits on Wednesday night, police said.
Four accused, including the sister, have been detained for questioning.Afsar Ahmad, a resident of Shahanshahbad, had an argument with his sister Shahnaz over a financial issue that escalated into violence. Police said Shahnaz, along with her son and two others, allegedly attacked Afsar with a knife.He was rushed to Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College, where he succumbed to his injuries.Circle officer Sarvam Singh said efforts were underway to ascertain the exact sequence of events.Locals said tensions between the siblings had been ongoing over running a canteen at Aligarh Muslim University. The canteen, initially run jointly by Shahnaz and her son, was later taken over by Afsar.Police also said the accused allegedly attempted to mislead investigators by claiming that Afsar died by suicide and had stabbed himself. However, the nature of the injuries raised suspicion.Based on a complaint filed by the victim’s wife, Sazia, a case was registered against Shahnaz and three others under section 103 (murder) of BNS.
