Man killed over past dispute in Prakasam district

A 33-year-old man was allegedly killed in a suspected case of enmity in Mangamur village, located in the Santanutalapadu mandal of Prakasam district. The deceased was identified as Pilli Ashok.

The incident occurred at midnight on Sunday (June 21, 2026), when Ashok and his friend Kankanala Madhu went to the NSP canal bridge on the outskirts of their village.

The accused, identified as Peyyala Satish, Alladi Chandu, Aluri Santosh, and two others, attacked Ashok with iron rods and stabbed him to death with knives after pushing Madhu aside, who tried to intervene.

Based on a complaint filed by Ashok’s wife, Devarapalli Vineela, SI Ajay Babu of the Santanutalapadu Police Station registered a case under Sections 103(1) and 61(2), read with 3(5). Ongole Rural Circle Inspector M. Seshagiri Rao took up the further investigation.
