A security guard murdered his wife by slitting her throat following a quarrel allegedly over a trivial issue at their residence in Bilekahalli on Sunday night.
According to police, the complaint was lodged by the couple’s son on Monday. The family, originally from Davangere district, shifted to Bengaluru about four years ago and had been living in Bilekahalli.
The complainant stated that his father worked as a security guard, while his mother was a housekeeper.
The police said the accused was addicted to alcohol and frequently picked quarrels with his wife. On March 15 between 8.30 p.m. and 9.30 p.m., he allegedly got into an argument with her over a trivial issue and attacked her with a knife, slitting her throat and killing her on the spot.
After committing the crime, the accused fled the scene.
Based on the complaint, a murder case has been registered at the Mico Layout Police Station. The police have launched a probe to arrest the absconding accused.
