Man stabbed to death by cousin in Azamgarh

Varanasi: A man was stabbed to death by his cousin over a trivial issue at Chakkatak village under Mehnagar police station in Azamgarh district late on Saturday.Azamgarh CO (Lalganj) Bhupesh Kumar Pandey on Sunday said that a dispute over removing a balcony turned violent when Mohan Ram attacked his cousin Vijendra Ram with a knife.

He was rushed to hospital, where he succumbed to injuries.

Based on the complaint of Vijendra’s family, police registered a named FIR against Mohan, who managed to escape.Police said teams were carrying out raids to nab the accused.Mohan had an old dispute with his relatives and neighbours over a balcony of his house. Over the same dispute, he and Vijendra quarreled, when Mohan attacked him with a knife and fled the scene. Upon receiving information, CO and other officials reached the spot and inspected the crime scene.
