Man stabs pregnant YouTuber wife to death over dowry

A man allegedly stabbed his four-month pregnant wife to death over unmet dowry demands at their residence in Madhapur village of Korutla mandal in Jagtial district early on Tuesday.

The deceased was identified as Vaishnavi (20), a YouTuber.

The brutal murder came to light when the neighbours found Vaishnavi lying dead in a pool of blood at her house on Tuesday morning.

According to sources, Vaishnavi’s 24-year-old husband Haribabu, a worker in a Korutla-based hospital, allegedly stabbed her multiple times with a knife, killing her on the spot. He fled the scene soon after allegedly committing the gruesome murder.

Haribabu was in a relationship with Vaishnavi and married her around 10 months ago. However, he had been ‘harassing’ her for dowry for the past few months,

The deceased used to run a YouTube channel titled ‘Vaishu Amma’ along with her husband.

She was passionate about creating reels on varied themes and her YouTube channel had more than 50,000 followers with nearly 200 videos, sources close to her family said.

The gruesome killing of the young ‘YouTuber’ allegedly by her husband sparked outrage among local residents. 

Later in the day, aggrieved relatives of the deceased staged a protest in Korutla demanding harshest punishment to the alleged killer. 

The Korutla police have registered a case and launched a search to nab the accused, Haribabu, who is at large.
