In a shocking incident, a 22-year-old Vipin alias Vicky was stabbed 14 times by Anas Khan over an old enmity in Jaipur’s Jamdoli area. The incident involving members of two different communities has become a flashpoint in the city’s communal tensions.

Accused Khan has claimed responsibility for the murder on social media with a video that showed him waving a knife. In the video, he said that he had taken revenge. He quickly deleted the post, but the situation had escalated by then.

A furious crowd took to the streets to protest the murder, clashing with police, hurling stones, and attempting to block the Jaipur-Agra highway.

Vipin, a shp worker, reportedly had a longstanding enmity with Khan, although it was believed to have been settled last month.

Khan called Vipin to an isolated area Late Sunday night, police sources told NDTV, adding that the accused arrived at the spot with half a dozen men on bikes. He attacked Vipin there and then escaped with the help of his associates. The victim was rushed to the SMS Hospital but could not be saved.

Superintendent of Police Kunwar Rashtradeep told NDTV, “Anas Khan deleted the post after the crime, but police have obtained CCTV evidence showing him speeding away on a bike after committing the crime."

The police have registered a murder case against nine people, and four suspects have been detained for questioning. A special team has been formed to arrest Khan.

The protesters are refusing to accept Vipin’s body for the last rites and are staging a protest outside the police station, demanding the accused’s arrest, compensation, and a government job for the victim’s family.
