Man with 4 prior rape cases held for abducting & assaulting minor

Bhopal: Police arrested a 45-year-old habitual sex offender for abducting and sexually assaulting a nine-year-old girl. The accused has four prior cases of rape and abduction, including two under the POCSO Act, and was released from jail on Feb 2 after serving his sentence.Police said the girl was returning from a temple on Tuesday morning when the accused approached her, claiming to be her father’s friend, and took her on his bike to his room, where he assaulted her. When she began crying, he took her to MP Nagar, bought her ice-cream, then left her crying at Thandi Sadak, where police rescued her. Police registered a case and identified the accused through CCTV footage, arresting him from his rented room on Friday.He was produced in court and sent to jail.
