Man, woman killed after being hit by goods train

Bhopal: A man and a woman were killed after being hit by a goods train near Hinotiya railway station in Madhya Pradesh’s Ashoknagar district in the early hours of Thursday.The incident occurred around 2 am when the loco pilot of the goods train alerted railway authorities that two people had come in front of the train.

Their bodies were later found near the tracks.Police from Dehat police station reached the spot and recovered the bodies ,which were mutilated. Officials said severe facial injuries have made it difficult to identify the victims. Police suspect it as a case of suicide.During the examination, police found tattoos that may help establish their identities. The woman had the words “Jagpal Barkha” tattooed below her neck, while the man had “Pushpa” and another partially legible name tattooed on his arm.The bodies have been sent to the district hospital mortuary for post-mortem examination.Police said efforts are underway to identify the deceased and ascertain the circumstances leading to the incident.
