Manchu Manoj reveals he missed out on 'Arjun Reddy'; hopes to work with Sandeep Reddy Vanga in future projects

Actor Manchu Manoj, who is making his comeback with the recently released film 'Bhairavam', opened up about some missed opportunities in his career. He revealed that he had the chance to star in the now-iconic Sandeep Reddy Vanga directorial 'Arjun Reddy'.As per a Gulte report, during one of the promotional events of the film, Manoj revealed that back in 2013, Vanga had narrated the script of 'Arjun Reddy' to him. However, due to personal reasons at the time, he was unable to take up the project. Manoj expressed his regret for missing out on working with such a talented filmmaker and conveyed his hope to collaborate with Vanga in the future.The romantic action drama 'Arjun Reddy', which became a cult classic, was directed by debutant Vanga and catapulted Vijay Deverakonda to superstardom.The film was eventually released in 2017 and, despite initial criticism for its bold themes, such as its portrayal of toxic masculinity and violence, it went on to become one of Telugu cinema's most talked-about and influential films. The movie starred Vijay Deverakonda and Shalini Pandey in lead roles, supported by a strong ensemble cast including Priyadarshi Pulikonda and Rahul Ramakrishna.The film's success was so significant that the director remade it in Hindi as 'Kabir Singh' in 2019, starring Shahid Kapoor and Kiara Advani.

This version also became a major commercial hit.

Manchu's latest release 'Bhairavam' was released yesterday and it collected Rs 2.75 crore on its debut as per Sacnilk.Currently, Sandeep Reddy Vanga is working on his upcoming Prabhas starrer 'Spirit'. The film is described as a high-octane cop drama blending action, romance, and intense drama. Filming is expected to commence around September or October 2025, following Prabhas's completion of other projects like 'The Raja Saab' and 'Fauji'.
