A truck carrying a large load of mangoes overturned on Rispana Bridge in Dehradun on Thursday, causing an unusual commotion as hundreds of mangoes spilled across the road.
While no injuries were reported in the incident, what drew the most attention was the group of passersby and local residents who rushed to the spot, many carrying bags, baskets and sacks, to collect the scattered fruit shortly after the accident.

In a separate incident, nine labourers lost their lives and 10 others were injured when a truck carrying mangoes overturned in Andhra Pradesh’s Annamayya district on Sunday night.
The accident took place near Reddy Cheruvu Katta in Pullampeta mandal, approximately 60 km from Kadapa town. Police said the labourers were seated atop the mango load and were crushed beneath it when the vehicle overturned while crossing a lake bund.
Among the deceased were five women. The injured were rushed to the government hospital in Rajampet for treatment.
According to the truck driver, who survived the crash, the vehicle lost control while he was attempting to avoid a collision with an oncoming car.
