Manish Malhotra reveals untold story behind Sidharth Malhotra and Kiara Advani wedding video; Says ‘Please put up that reel’

Sidharth Malhotra and Kiara Advani are surely one of the most loved celebrity couples in Bollywood and their dreamy wedding in February 2023 at Suryagarh Palace was an intimate celebration which was attended by family members and close friends from the film industry.Recently, celebrated designer Manish Malhotra opened up about the behind-the-scenes story of that now-iconic wedding video. During a conversation with Sonal Kalra at The Right Angle, the designer shared how the beloved clip almost never made it to Instagram.

Manish Malhotra’s close bond with the couple

Manish Malhotra shares a strong personal bond with both Sidharth and Kiara. Over the years, the couple has often been seen spending time with the designer at his residence and attending gatherings hosted by him.Speaking about weddings that hold a special place in his heart, Manish said Sidharth and Kiara’s ceremony stands out because he was deeply involved in every aspect of it. Recalling the experience, he said the entire wedding process felt very personal. He and the couple had several discussions at his house while preparing for the big day.Manish Malhotra revealed that the wedding reel, which later became a viral sensation, might never have been shared publicly if he had not encouraged the couple.

Speaking about the moment, he said, “I would say Kiara and Sidharth Malhotra’s wedding, because the entire wedding was done by us. We were very involved there were discussions at my house about the decor and everything else. There were also little surprises that people later got to know about, like Kiara doing that dance with Sidharth. I remember telling them, ‘Please put up that reel, and please share this reel.’ They have so much love and respect for me that they eventually gave in.

I’m so grateful that they did it and so happy they did it. I think that remains one of my most cherished weddings."

The bridal entry that became iconic

When the wedding video was finally shared online, it immediately captured the hearts of millions and one of the most memorable moments from the clip was Kiara’s bridal entry.As she walked down the aisle the actress performed a playful dance for Sidharth.In 2025, the couple entered a new phase in their journey. They welcomed their baby girl and named her Saraayah Malhotra. On the work front, Kiara was last seen in 'War 2'.
