Marcaim man comes under truck wheels, dies

Ponda: Nitin Vaikunth Gaude, 32, from Marcaim, Ponda, died after coming under the wheels of a container truck at Parpatiwada, Borim, on Saturday afternoon.Ponda police said that Gaude, who was working at a private firm, was returning home and the truck was also travelling in the same direction when Gaude’s scooter skidded and he came under the truck.Police have arrested the truck driver. Gaude’s body has been preserved at the South Goa District Hospital for an autopsy likely to be conducted on Sunday.This is the second fatal accident within two months at Borim. On May 14, Mohini Tukaram Naik, 55, from Betki, Borim, died after coming under the rear wheels of a container truck at Borim.
