The chargesheet filed in the TCS Nashik conversion case has introduced a new dimension to the investigation, with the complainant levelling fresh allegations against the accused.

According to her statement, the accused, Danish, allegedly concealed his marriage and the fact that he had two children while continuing a relationship with her. She claimed that he persuaded her to stay with him and even suggested that if she could not find a suitable match within her community, she could marry an imam. The imam's wife, he allegedly told her, would later teach her Islamic customs, traditions and religious practices.

The woman further alleged that after she discovered Danish was already married and had children, he reportedly told her that polygamy is permissible in Islam.

As per her statement recorded in the chargesheet, she came to know about Danish's marital status in February 2026 after receiving calls and messages from an unknown WhatsApp number. When she confronted him, he allegedly revealed that the number belonged to his wife and admitted that he had two children. The complainant said she was shocked, as he had concealed this information despite being in a relationship with her.

She further alleged that when she questioned him about the concealment, Danish told her he feared she would leave him if she learned the truth. She also claimed he asked her to speak to his wife, who allegedly wanted to meet her and discuss Islamic customs and practices.

The complainant stated that she later asked Danish, "Now that you are married, who will marry me?" In response, he allegedly told her that multiple marriages were permissible in Islam and suggested she could still marry someone from within the community. She further alleged that he advised her to marry the imam of their congregation if no other match could be found.

When she asked who the imam was, Danish allegedly said he was the imam of their Jamaat and claimed that the imam's wife would teach her Arabic, Islamic traditions and religious practices at a madrasa.

Her statement also includes allegations of an attempt to alter her identity following her alleged conversion.

She claimed Danish and another accused, Tausif, discussed obtaining documents in the name 'Hania' and advised her to keep her conversion hidden from her family. She further alleged that she was asked to surrender her original documents and relocate after the new identity papers were arranged.

The complainant also alleged that there were discussions about shifting her to Mumbai and even Malaysia, where she could continue practising Islam away from her family. "They asked me not to worry. Once I get the documents under the identity of Hania, I can inform my parents that I am leaving India for work for two years," her statement in the chargesheet read.

She further claimed that one of the accused warned her that maintaining contact with them could lead to their exposure and arrest.

ABOUT TCS NASHIK CASE

The controversy centres on a TCS-linked call centre in Nashik, where several women employees have alleged that senior staff subjected them to sexual and religious harassment, including attempts to pressure them into religious conversion.

The complainants, aged between 18 and 25, have accused colleagues and supervisors of molestation, unwanted physical contact, stalking, obscene remarks, and misleading them with promises of marriage. They also alleged repeated comments on their personal lives and reproductive health.

Along with the three arrested accused – Danish Shaikh, Tausif Attar and Nida Khan – the chargesheet has also named AIMIM corporator Matin Patel from Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar.

Officials have alleged that Patel provided shelter to Nida Khan while she was absconding during the investigation.
