A powerful dust storm swept across Gurugram in Haryana on Tuesday before extending into parts of Delhi and Noida in Uttar Pradesh, disrupting daily life with strong winds and sharply reduced visibility.
In response, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued an orange alert for the Delhi-NCR region, warning of gusty winds and rainfall.
Videos circulating on social media captured towering clouds of dust engulfing several areas of Delhi, Noida and Gurugram. Weather officials indicated that similar conditions were likely to spread across more parts of the NCR within a short span. They also forecast a brief period of moderate to heavy rain accompanied by thunderstorms between 3 pm and 4:30 pm, with conditions expected to improve and turn dry after 5 pm.
